Known as TF-X, Terrafugia has fitted it with hybrid powertrain to propel the wheels on the ground and two electric rotors for flying. The vehicle does its takeoff vertically instead of requiring high speed run before airborne.   2. Question. Everyone needing a pilot's license was mentioned, yet the Terrafugia states that the car itself does the flying for you. Would that still require a pilot's license? I rather doubt it since, in flying mode, the operator has no direct control.

  6. Interesting how everyone talks about a flying car but don't realize that not everyone is capable mentally or experience wise to fly. What about the control of traffic with flying cars. Flying car has failure and crash lands right next to a pedestrian in a grounded car changing his tire. Not looking forward to that.

  23. the patent and the liability attorneys would have a field day. in the usa the operator would need both a ground drivers license and a fa.a pilots license to operate . also it must fold into a brief case .:)

  33. MAVERICK LOOKS LIKE AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. TERRIFUGIA IS THE TYPE OF VEHICLE THAT WILL MAKE THE GRADE WHERE THE OWNER CAN MAKE CESNA-TYPE TIME IN A PLANE/CAR THAT GIVES THE OWNER THE ABILITY TO NAVIGATE ON BOTH THE GROUND AND THE AIR.
